A big change on my blog

From now on Lille Lykke blog will offer you the best inspiration on a weekly basis. Every Friday we post all the things that have turned a light on in our head. A beautiful mix between online and offline. After all inspiration comes from many directions.

We hope you will join us on this journey. In addition we are working on putting together some workshop plans. Still looking for a great location so as soon as I have news on this I will swiftly update you all.

A give away I lost without feeling a loser

How much fun was this enormous give away. The Dutch interior magazine (and online webshop) VT Wonen invited us all to put together our favorite items to create a 'SPRING HOME'. Criteria: had to be done in 24 hours (webshop was adjusted to the give away), had to be for several rooms in the house (living, kitchen, bedrooms, garden, etc) and had to be 10.000 euros exactly. The last was the biggest challenge as it meant making many concessions.
Out of 49.750 entrees can you imagine I didn't win. I can! Gosh I cannot imagine they were able to even take a quick glance at all entrees with so many people joinging the give away. The lucky winner was Simone Haveman. Here is the winning selection. But I don't feel a loser. I have had a good think about my home, my accessories, colours and I have a fun evening puzzling to get the exact amount. I will definately join again next year.
Above is the selection of product I chose for my personal spring home. If only I had won. So many items there have been on my wish list for quite some time but some things are just not within the every day budget.

Into Tropical home inspiration

It must be having lived in Singapore for three years but I am very much into the Tropical home atmosphere. If you add this just by using a few fun wallpapers, some accessories and big plants you can embrace the whim and can easily switch to something else after a year or so.

Look at all my Tropical Home inspirations as the list keeps growing by the day on my Pinterest board. I've totaly come back to Pinterest and will make some revisions in current boards and keep adding new ones.

I am a dreamer. I dream of having enough time to continue my blog. I dream of beautiful colonial black and white houses and cannot stop myself visiting open houses every Saturday. And after I visit them I always start decorating them in my mind. Young kids have imaginary friends, I have imaginary houses. And decorating them becomes more and more easy with all these amazing brands and stores you come across on Instagram.

Follow me on my journey past the black and white colonial houses and my family life in Singapore on Instagram. I post almost daily there and hopefully much more often here than in the past year. If people ask me what I do I still reply 'I am a blogger'. So best start blogging again than.

A recent DIY

It was long before I had children of my own that I came across a little boy dressed up like an Astronaut. He had empty soda bottles on his back and over his head something that looked like a plastic fish bowl. Could hardly walk in his creation but I loved it so much that it has never left my mind. Now that my oldest is three I can create my own master piece. Specially since we had Carnaval mid February to celebrate.

As inspiration for my creation I chose a Pottery Barn store bought suit. Also looks amazing but I just like to DIY a bit. I took some garden equipment from my dad's shed, two empty soda bottles and neoprane fabric and some glitsy bright colours for finishing details.

Have to admit. I was really really stoked with the end result. And hoping hoping hoping that the three year old would wear it. Thank goodness he did and loved it just as much as I did.



I am now working on a 'no pattern' fireman jacket. I hope it will work out just as cute as this one. Can't wait to fill up his dress up wardrobe with all these cool little suits.

It's been a long loooong while since my last blog post. I am still trying to work out how I want my little 'come back' to be. But I do have to say this 'thanks to all our online friends' is a massive motivator to get back into it. Specially since for some reason I am yet to find out they've mentioned me first (blushing and glowing at the same time).

My dear sweet 101 friends. I would like to take a moment to THANK YOU for all the amazing inspiration, photography, blog posts and the fun we had at the yearly Woonbeurs. You were the first to step forward and embrace bloggers instead of seeing us as competition. You dared to be different.

As they say 'paper is patient' and you have an archive of great things you've produced together to look back on. I truly hope you will all embrace your new 2015 adventures whatever they may be. And may our paths cross once again. I'll be in the Netherlands in February/March and all I can say is 'let's do lunch!' and see how many of the above 101 friends we can add to the table.

Not sure what direction to go yet... But I have made a start. I will continue to blog in a new style. In the following week you will find changes being done and if I come across the right inspiration maybe also new posts already.

Why silence

Hello everybody!
Here a brief word from my little desk in Singapore. Why the silence on my blog you must have wondered by now. I got confused in the world of blogging and distracted by my two gorgeous children. It must be some sort of a '6-years blogging blues'. I am sure I will find my 'mojo' again and will return in a more fresh and better way. It will no longer be limited to just Scandinavian style or brands and probably a combination of online inspirations and things from my life I wish to share. In the mean time I wish you a great summer and may or may not show you some inspirations. Depending if things GET me enough to post them.

All it takes is COURAGE

What some women have with shoes I have with posters. I have a wide variety of posters in my house. Both on the kids rooms, in our bedroom and in the living room. I have so many that they are overlayed in their frames and every now and than I put another one in front. Here's the thing... This poster has been on my mind for quite some time now. I really like the 'pep talk' you can find in the different posters of I LOVE MY TYPE. And this 'courage' one is my favorite and a 'just be you' for my boys room. And as you can see in the pictures by I love my type they suit every interior.

Sorry I have been missing on my blog lately. I'm busy with my two boys going from feed to feed, nap to nap, a quick bath and off to bed leaving me a bit drained at the end of the day. I'm sure all the mothers out there know what I mean. As well as the bloggers that keep a full time day job. I just can't find the time to sit down and find great online inspirations for you. For the moment I've lost my 'blogging mojo'.
Nevertheless... I did find this great Easter printable I just have to share. It's by Smallforbig blog and made me smile. I only didn't stick the props on the egg but on the eggholder.
