Mooi wit met een grapje en een tip

Een mooie selectie wit servies met het grappige eierdopje van Donna Wilson ertussen. Wat heeft zij een mooie collectie neergezet in de afgelopen jaren. En het servies is ook echt mooi van kwaliteit. Daarom was het een feest om gisteren te ontdekken dat de Bijenkorf online 30% korting heeft op veel van de Donna Wilson servies items. Niet leuk voor de andere retailers dat de Bijenkorf onder de prijs duikt maar wel heel fijn voor ons als consument.
A beautiful selection of white china with that funny cat eggholder by Donna Wilson. I admire her collection and love the ceramic items she has. How stoked was I to find out yesterday that Bijenkorf (Dutch warehouse) has a 30% discount on many of these items. Not so nice for the other Dutch retailers but oh so nice for us consumers.

Zweedse dala horses

Zelf ben ik ze nog niet gaan verzamelen maar ik vind ze nog steeds heel erg leuk. Denk met name dat ik er geen plekje voor weet. Maar na het zien van deze foto's van Hus o Hem mag dat excuus niet echt meer op gaan. Gelukkig hoef je er niet meteen voor naar Zweden (wat natuurlijk wel heel leuk is!) maar zijn ze ook te vinden via Marktplaats.

I haven't started collecting them but I do really like them, the Swedish DALA horses. Main reason is probably because I don't know where to put them. After seeing these images on Hus o Hem site I know that cannot be an excuse anymore. Luckely you don't have to go to Sweden to get them (although that is of course the nicest) you can also find them on Marktplaats (Dutch craigslist).

Uitstervende wanden?

Deze geweldige afbeelden komen van Emmas design blog uit een mooie post over de Louis Poulsen lampen. Mooie rustieke witte vloeren, lichte ruimtes en natuurlijk prachtige design lampen. En waar ik dan over ga nadenken is zou de generatie van onze kinderen ook nog zo'n wanden met ruime verzamelingen tijdschriften, boeken en CD's hebben? Of een kleine opstapeling van hard disks, memory sticks en digitale fotolijsten? Worden wanden als deze de Mammoet van de komende generaties?
When looking at these images on the Emmas design blog and reading her beautiful post on the Louis Poulsen lamps I start to wonder. After getting past the white rustic floors, flooding light and beautiful design lamps I wonder if the generation of our kids will also have walls with large collections of magazines, books and CD's like this? Or will it be a small pile of hard discs, memory sticks and digital photo frames? Will this be the Mammoth of the next generation?

With a splash of colour

Weer een blog vondst om vrolijk van te worden: Mamma Tamo. Een Noors blog vol vrolijke gezellige foto's, indrukwekkende verzamelingen om jaloers op te zijn en vol inspiratie. Hier zie je mooi het effect van een basis interieur met te gekke kleurrijke accessoires. Ik ga voor toekomstige aanpassingen in huis zeker deze krijtwand onthouden. Leuk met die poster, retro lamp en kapstok.
Again a great discovery in blog country: Mamma Tamo. A Norwegian blog filled with great pictures, amazing collections (that make me a bit jealous) and heaps of inspiration. Here you can see the results of a basic interior completed with funky colourful accessories. For future alterations to our home I'm definately going to keep the chalkboard wall in mind. Love how it is combined with a bright poster, a retro lamp and the hooks on the wall.

Retro lekker over the top

Deze kwam ik tegen op het Deense blog Wooz. Een retro woning van iemand met een stevige verzamelwoede. Als je de link in haar post volgt kom je op een site waar je 360 graden afbeeldingen kunt bekijken. Dan is het net of je zelf in deze kamers staat.

Enorme kitsch maar wel grappig

Per stuk zou ik er persoonlijk niet heel snel voor vallen maar als je een verzameling bij elkaar zet zoals hier bij een van de Dos Family visits dan wordt het ineens weer heel leuk. Met name die huilende variant. Die's natuurlijk BRILJANT!
If I would come across one of these at a thrift shop I wouldn't be tempted to buy one. However, a collection of them as seen here in one of the Dos Family visits is very cute. Specially the one crying. That's the best!
