No really... thank YOU!

It's been a long loooong while since my last blog post. I am still trying to work out how I want my little 'come back' to be. But I do have to say this 'thanks to all our online friends' is a massive motivator to get back into it. Specially since for some reason I am yet to find out they've mentioned me first (blushing and glowing at the same time).

My dear sweet 101 friends. I would like to take a moment to THANK YOU for all the amazing inspiration, photography, blog posts and the fun we had at the yearly Woonbeurs. You were the first to step forward and embrace bloggers instead of seeing us as competition. You dared to be different.

As they say 'paper is patient' and you have an archive of great things you've produced together to look back on. I truly hope you will all embrace your new 2015 adventures whatever they may be. And may our paths cross once again. I'll be in the Netherlands in February/March and all I can say is 'let's do lunch!' and see how many of the above 101 friends we can add to the table.

Why silence

Hello everybody!
Here a brief word from my little desk in Singapore. Why the silence on my blog you must have wondered by now. I got confused in the world of blogging and distracted by my two gorgeous children. It must be some sort of a '6-years blogging blues'. I am sure I will find my 'mojo' again and will return in a more fresh and better way. It will no longer be limited to just Scandinavian style or brands and probably a combination of online inspirations and things from my life I wish to share. In the mean time I wish you a great summer and may or may not show you some inspirations. Depending if things GET me enough to post them.

All it takes is COURAGE

What some women have with shoes I have with posters. I have a wide variety of posters in my house. Both on the kids rooms, in our bedroom and in the living room. I have so many that they are overlayed in their frames and every now and than I put another one in front. Here's the thing... This poster has been on my mind for quite some time now. I really like the 'pep talk' you can find in the different posters of I LOVE MY TYPE. And this 'courage' one is my favorite and a 'just be you' for my boys room. And as you can see in the pictures by I love my type they suit every interior.

Easter printable that made me smile

Image 1 and 2 by Smallforbig, image 3 by Lillelykke on Instagram
Sorry I have been missing on my blog lately. I'm busy with my two boys going from feed to feed, nap to nap, a quick bath and off to bed leaving me a bit drained at the end of the day. I'm sure all the mothers out there know what I mean. As well as the bloggers that keep a full time day job. I just can't find the time to sit down and find great online inspirations for you. For the moment I've lost my 'blogging mojo'.
Nevertheless... I did find this great Easter printable I just have to share. It's by Smallforbig blog and made me smile. I only didn't stick the props on the egg but on the eggholder.

Hope to see you soon beautiful book

A dear blog friend of mine has worked months and months on a book called Yvestown in de keuken (Yvestown in the kitchen). Something refreshing as it doesn't just tick the cookbook box, no also the interior, photography, and life with friends box. To complement this amazing book there is a collection of postcards and tea towels available at Sissy Boy Homeland and the Yvestown shop. If you're in the area this Thursday make sure you bring it down to Sissy Boy Homeland in Amsterdam for the official launch of the book (more information on the Yvestown blog here). I'm also there and would love to meet you.

This is not a sponsored post. I get nothing from Yvestown besides a great friendship and your occasional dosis of brutal honesty. Love you for it honey...

Tried and tested... The bObles crocodile and kids love it!!!

We tried the bObles crocodile in our family. From the age of 1, 4, 8, 10 and 12 they all found their own way to play with it and have fun. Using it to lie on, as steps, balancing board and jump board (even though it doesn't bend).

Quoting my sister: 'Even though us grown ups thought 'nice looking but what can you do with it?!' the kids loved playing with it. From one to twelve they all got busy with it and it will keep them interested for quite a while. And a happy kid.... makes a happy parent right?

I can't wait to get to the Netherlands next week and let my little two year old toddler have a go. The bObles crocodile is a lucky one as he'll get to go to Singapore for our boys to play with. It'll look very good with our lucious garden and help the boys in their development. Can't wait to come up with a suitable name for our new pet.

All bObles items are part of 'the happy development'. Read all about it on the bObles website, look at the colors and shapes available and find a reseller close to you.

The bObles crocodile was offered to Lille Lykke to test. After we bring it home to Singapore we will post pictures on Instagram

This is a cactus that happily combines with my toddler

Did you fill up your home with a cactus last year? I was tempted but aside from a few really small ones from IKEA I resisted. Too worried that I would end up hurting my adventurous exploring toddler son. Visiting the website of Sydney based prop buyer and interior stylist Briar Stanley I came across this post with these prints of paintings. They are by Art and People from Brooklyn USA and you can find them on Etsy. Now those are cacti I can happily combine with my wandering toddler at a very friendly price.

Dress your bathroom with a designer shower curtain

And after you've been original with your wall hangings (blogpost yesterday) why not continue with your shower curtain? Society6 is an online platform where designers can offer their work to be printed on a series of items selected by Society6. New in their collection is the shower curtain. I really like the idea that you can choose between 1994 designs (good luck!) finding your favorite.
We don't need shower curtains in our current home but maybe in the future. I did order with them before. I've recently ordered a poster (very nice), a t-shirt (expected a better print but still like it) and a pillow cover (didn't read the additional text and expected other material so not happy but my own fault).

Be original!

I have a major thing for posters. Guess I have about twenty that I keep in seven frames (they're layered). And every so often I change the one that get's to see the glass and I get to look at. But my interest is shifting. I feel a need to be a bit more original. I never thought I would say this let alone share it with the world. I'm starting to like these dreamcatchers I spot online. Not you're average with heavy feathers but like this Beci Oprin one from Urban Outfitters. Another thing I spot that will take me some more time to grow into are the woven wall hangings. This is a rather heavy one by Cold Picnic, also available via Urban Outfitters.

Light up my initials

Most likely I will attend the Maison and Objet in Singapore this March. Looking forward to seeing some of this Graphic Lamp collection by Delightfull. I love the font of the G and would love to see the M and L up on the boys room. Let's find out if we have to break the bank for that...

Very stylish and very functional, the Booksee shelves

Meet the BOOKSEE. A new product from the collection of Ubabub. We love the BOOKSEE as it delivers what it says... you can see the book when it is on the shelf. Kids books often have amazing covers that you want to display them. An easy and quick solution for many has been the spice racks by IKEA (including in our home) but this is definately a more stylish option.

In my own backyard… the Bloesem creative space

All images by Bloesem blogs found on Pinterest
So far me not visiting the new Bloesem creative space in Singapore has not been a matter of no interest but absolutely a matter of lack of time. And by the looks of it it will soon be a matter of budget. As soon as I step into her shop I'll be lost and have to buy some of the items of designers we both adore like Fine Little Day, Keecie, Darling Clementine, Jurianne Matter, and so many more. I am also curious about her own hand woven pillows (image 1) as it seems she is using amazing colors.
I feel fortunate living in Singapore and being able to visit her shop and enjoy her signature style and atmosphere. Must really shift into gear and make sure I go there in the next few days. Keep and eye on Instagram as I'll surely post images when I'm there.

Quirky but very cool

How nice is this quirky but very cool version of the Charles chair in concrete. Yes you read it correctly CONCRETE. Ideal for a relaxing moment outside. Brought in a limited edition of 45 and a few available in Singapore via Fred lives here. Wonder who's going to pick those up. Lucky people.

New year is new collections, a Ferm LIVING preview

It's a new year and that also means new collections. One I am always curious about is Ferm LIVING. I've known this brand from their early wallpaper days and so very much admire the development of their collection. New products added and always in line with their current designs. Want to see more of what Trine has come up with for this season check out their catalogue via this link.

If you follow me for insights on my life as a mother in Singapore on Instagram you'll see some nice Thailand pictures in the following days as we're off to Phuket. Hope you also have nice things planned.
Have a nice weekend!

Appartment in Strassbourg

I cannot get over how many unusual but great decoration items this house in Strassbourg has. I envy them for their large hyper pink Z, their wired Eiffel tower, and their lovely combination of original features in the apparment combined with a modern style furniture. The only thing I would change personally are the glass door and the glass 'bricks' next to it. Not really my cup of tea.

Safe the date.... February 7th

Put a big X in your 2014 diary as on the 7th of February IKEA will launch a new designer collection called Bråkig. In a collaboration with the danish ArtRebels a line of beautiful products was designed. I love the simplicity of the wall storage with nice hooks to put either coats or cups. Coloring the tops of the FROSTA stool is one of the most done IKEA hacks so why not offer it in store... Clever thinking IKEA! And in my mind I've already found more than one nice spot of these little 130 x 170 cm rugs.
