No Christmas preperation is complete without making your own gingerbread house. Our friends at IKEA have put a manual online (the one behind the link is in Dutch). So start (translating) filling your kitchen with great smells and design your own gingerbread house!
It's lovely wether to be stuck in the kitchen maken the greatest seasonal dishes. Like apple pie en casseroles. But of course we would most love to do this in a well equiped and cosy kitchen. This example with beautiful equipment was spotted in Hus & Hem. Yeah, when having a kitchen like this I believe I would become a propper Martha Steward in the Kitchen... This week I will look into nice seasonal recipes for you all!
I love this idea. In magazines, ads and even the home collection of H&M you see more and more products that are drawn. Now you can use this idea for a table setting during a dinner. You can draw the placemats as in this example or the outlines of the plate, cutlery and glass. Just let your creativity take over!
When we were young we were always making things. From clay or other special materials. Sometimes I wonder how I knew how to do certain things. Therefor I've bought many oldfashioned 'DIY' creative books.
Now we have a new and very nice Danish book on the shelves: JULEFRYD by Rie Elise Larsen. A Danish designer / stylist with a complete new look at Christmas decorations. It is in Danish so we embrace Google language translator when we reed it. But is is filled with nice decorations, templates and delightful recipes. The absolute MUSTHAVE for December!
My new baby cousin NOUT sure knows that his aunt has a shop in Scandinavian home decorations. He sleeps in an Oliver Furniture cradle and has a Serholt birdtree light. The Ferm LIVING wallsticker was also on the wishlist, the Bird Tree. Maybe when he is a little bit bigger or when they live in a new home. Until that time I have treated him with a beautiful stitched bedding of the same print. Sweet dreams little Nout!
This interior is perfect for this time of year and season. The candles and fireplace give a warm glowing light and the wallpaper is similar to the trees outsite. By mixing antique, new, modern, natural materials and design you create a good balance in the interior.
