Reconstruction of the 1930s by EGE

The Danish EGE rug company is celebrating it's 75th year anniversary. And what better way to do this than with a great limited rug edition collection. The EGE designers Karen Nybo and Mette Martinsen came up with a collection inspired by the 1930s art deco style by Le Corbusier. The result are these 8 great shaped rugs with pastel colors and graphic design. With prices going from 215 to 1.065 euros.

You know more than you think you do

De eerste keer dat ik PINTEREST leerde kennen kwam ik heel veel leuke typografie posters tegen. Deze van Anthony Burrill kende ik echter nog niet dus dank je Vlinspiratie voor de inspiratie. De grijs/zwarte combinatie zou geweldig staan in ons huis en ik hou van de positieve teksten.  

When I first discovered PINTEREST I came across many nice typography posters. This one by Anthony Burrill was new to me so thank you Vlinspiratie for the inspiration. I love the grey/black color combination and the positive message.

Scandinavian style in Australia

Dit is het huis van Australische stylist Simone Haag. Ik volg haar op Instagram en het is dan ook heel leuk zo'n mooie foto's van haar op diverse sites tegen te komen. Ik bleef hangen omwille van de 'For Like Ever' poster. Wil al een tijdje zo'n mooie poster en hoop er ook eentje mee te nemen naar Singapore. This is the home of Australian stylist Simone Haag. I have been following her on Instagram for a while now and it's nice to come across so many of her images at several sites. I stuck to this one because of the 'For Live Ever' poster in the background. Have got my eye on this poster for a while now and hope to be able to take one to Singapore with me. I'm thinking.... compromise

Tis altijd een beetje schipperen in een interieur. Je vindt iets mooi, komt enthousiast thuis en je partner zegt 'hmmm' en niet meer dan dat! Ik heb dus voor mezelf al besloten dat de dag dat mijn lief thuis komt en zegt 'schat, ik wil een bar in huis' dan zeg ik 'hmmm, [korte onderbreking van stilte] ok! maar dan mag ik em inrichten'. Rampampam... en dan komen deze prachtige Muuto stoelen zo via de voordeur naar binnen. Moet eerlijk bekennen dat ik ook al eens gezegd heb dat hij best een drumstel in een kelder mag en dat hij daar een gratis spiegelwand bij krijgt. Ik snap gewoon dat je soms het kind in jezelf moet koesteren.
Decorating a house together is always a matter of compromises. You like something, you come home filled with enthousiasm and your partner only responds with a 'hmmm'. I've made up my mind that if ever my Mr Lover comes home with the idea of wanting a bar in our home my response will be 'hmmm, [sort pause of silence] ok! But I get to decorate it!' And shazaaaam! That's when these beautiful Muuto barstools will find a special place into our home. Must admit that I've also once promised him that if we ever have a basement in a home that he can have drums there and I'll throw in a mirrored wall so that he can see himself play the drums. What can I say... I understand cherishing the kid in yourself.

Hoptimist in koper

Ik ben iemand die zonder problemen trends aan zich voorbij laat gaan. Zo ook de koper hype. Zeker het is een prachtige warme kleur en er zijn veel prachtige koperen producten te vinden. Maar ik loop er niet heel warm voor. En als ik dan al zou zwichten dan zou het zijn voor zo'n leuke Hoptimist. Ok, of de limited edition By Lassen maar dat is dan alleen omdat ik de warme kleur prefereer ten opzichte van zwart.
I'm the type of person that doesn't go by trend. I like what I like with or without trend. Currently we have the copper trend. Of course it's a beautiful warm color and you can find many amazing products in copper. However I'm not over excited about it. And if I would change my mind it would most likely be for one of these Hoptimist figures. Ok, and maybe the limited edition By Lassen candleholder just because I prefer a warm color over black.

Screen printing with Rachel Castle

Oh kon ik maar in het scherm duiken om bij zo'n geweldige screen printing les van Rachel Castle te zijn. Ze doet deze voor het Australische The School. Als je vaker op mijn blog bent geweest dan weet je dat ik een groot fan van haar werk ben. Strakke lijnen, heldere kleuren en fijne vormen. Sorry dat er nu alweer een Australische inspiratie post is. Maar je weet hoe dat soms gaat als je online bezig bent. Als je een pad van inspiratie volgt en doorklikt vind je het ene na het andere waar je hart sneller van gaat kloppen.
I love these images from the screen printing courses done by Rachel Castle for The School. If you read my blog on a regular basis you know I'm a huge fan of her work. So crisp and clean and full of color. Sorry that I have taken a turn to the Australian inspirations. But you know how it works online. If you follow a direction you keep finding great things. I'm sure there will be some Scandinavian additions real soon.
