Sorry I have been missing on my blog lately. I'm busy with my two boys going from feed to feed, nap to nap, a quick bath and off to bed leaving me a bit drained at the end of the day. I'm sure all the mothers out there know what I mean. As well as the bloggers that keep a full time day job. I just can't find the time to sit down and find great online inspirations for you. For the moment I've lost my 'blogging mojo'.
Nevertheless... I did find this great Easter printable I just have to share. It's by Smallforbig blog and made me smile. I only didn't stick the props on the egg but on the eggholder.

A dear blog friend of mine has worked months and months on a book called Yvestown in de keuken (Yvestown in the kitchen). Something refreshing as it doesn't just tick the cookbook box, no also the interior, photography, and life with friends box. To complement this amazing book there is a collection of postcards and tea towels available at Sissy Boy Homeland and the Yvestown shop. If you're in the area this Thursday make sure you bring it down to Sissy Boy Homeland in Amsterdam for the official launch of the book (more information on the Yvestown blog here). This is a cactus that happily combines with my toddler

Did you fill up your home with a cactus last year? I was tempted but aside from a few really small ones from IKEA I resisted. Too worried that I would end up hurting my adventurous exploring toddler son. Visiting the website of Sydney based prop buyer and interior stylist Briar Stanley I came across this post with these prints of paintings. They are by Art and People from Brooklyn USA and you can find them on Etsy. Now those are cacti I can happily combine with my wandering toddler at a very friendly price. 

In my own backyard… the Bloesem creative space

So far me not visiting the new Bloesem creative space in Singapore has not been a matter of no interest but absolutely a matter of lack of time. And by the looks of it it will soon be a matter of budget. As soon as I step into her shop I'll be lost and have to buy some of the items of designers we both adore like Fine Little Day, Keecie, Darling Clementine, Jurianne Matter, and so many more. I am also curious about her own hand woven pillows (image 1) as it seems she is using amazing colors. 

I feel fortunate living in Singapore and being able to visit her shop and enjoy her signature style and atmosphere. Must really shift into gear and make sure I go there in the next few days. Keep and eye on Instagram as I'll surely post images when I'm there. 

A december project to follow: Winter Animals by Zilverblauw

Here's a project to follow and join if you've gone creative decorating with your little fake animals. It is by my lovely blogger friend Anki from Zilverblauw can called Winter Animals.
She made this little deer and inspired so many others to also get creative. Now she is collecting all those creations on her blog. A lovely collection already and still growing. So if you want to join... I'm definately tempted to add one or two in the next week.

Scandinavian style in Australia

Dit is het huis van Australische stylist Simone Haag. Ik volg haar op Instagram en het is dan ook heel leuk zo'n mooie foto's van haar op diverse sites tegen te komen. Ik bleef hangen omwille van de 'For Like Ever' poster. Wil al een tijdje zo'n mooie poster en hoop er ook eentje mee te nemen naar Singapore. This is the home of Australian stylist Simone Haag. I have been following her on Instagram for a while now and it's nice to come across so many of her images at several sites. I stuck to this one because of the 'For Live Ever' poster in the background. Have got my eye on this poster for a while now and hope to be able to take one to Singapore with me. I could live here

Wat een heerlijke inspiratie gespot bij Fjeldborg blog. Een gerenoveerd huis uit 1951 waar Vidgis woont samen met haar man Johan en drie kinderen. Een mix en match van oudere meubels met her en der een fris kleur accent, het grote prikbord met een fijne basiskleur die inhaakt op de kleur van het kastje en de op het eerste oog houten buitenstoelen die gezellig zijn gemaakt met schaapshuiden en fijne kussens. Je blijkt kijken en je blijft dingen zien. Het herinnert mij eraan dat het heerlijk is om te wensen voor mooie design meubelen maar dat je deze niet perse nodig hebt voor een warm en gezellig thuis.
What a great inspirational home on the blog of Fjeldborg. A renovated house from 1951 owned by Vidgis and her husband Johan and their three children. A mix and match of older furniture with clever additions of focus colors, a large mood board on the wall where you can put up children's craft work and your own favorite poster, and the wooden sturdy chairs in the living room that at first sight look like they should be for the outdoors but by adding sheep skins and nice pillows are great in the living room. It all reminds me that it is ok to dream about and desire beautiful designer furniture but you don't necessarily need it to create a warm home.

For the love of a good vintage poster

Kijkend op mijn Pinterest board 'GREAT ILLUSTRATIONS' kwam ik dit beeld van een vintage poster met een schattig roze bankje tegen. Het huis is van styliste Heather Nette King en stond vermeld op het blog The Design Files. Helaas kom ik zelden zo'n mooie vintage posters van dat formaat tegen. Is me een keer overkomen in Zwitserland waar ik na me te hebben verloofd een mooie poster die ik her en der ter decoratie had gezien als souvenir mee wilde nemen. Helaas was de poster Arosa Girl met z'n 400 euro vrij stevig van prijs en heb ik em achter gelaten. Bij het artikel op het blog The Design Files staat een link en die bracht me op de Australische site Vintage Posters Only. Helaas niet met prijzen vermeld maar wel met een indrukwekkende collectie en posters van formaat. Mocht er een keertje een voorbij komen waarbij ik denk 'OEH!' dan ga ik nog maar eens informeren. Wie niet waagt, wie niet wint.
Looking through my Pinterest board 'GREAT ILLUSTRATIONS' I came across this image by The Design Files of a hallway with a cute pink sofa and an amazing vintage poster (home owner was stylist Heather Nette King). Unfortunately I never come across these posters in real life. And when I do (had it once in Switzerland where I wanted to buy the Arosa Girl poster as we got engaged that week) they are at least 400 euros. I followed the link in the blogpost by The Design Files and that brought me to the Australian site Vintage Posters Only. No prices mentioned there but the collection and measurement of the posters are impressive. Maybe something to look into if I come across a print I just cannot resist.

A recent discovery: Call me Cupcake

Als je de blog naam Call me Cupcake hoort zal je niet meteen denken deze veggie burgers met koolsalade aan te treffen. Maar ze staan er wel op en fantastisch gefotografeerd. En nog fijner... mét recept! Dus zorg er even voor dat je niet teveel honger hebt en ga snel kijken bij Call me Cupcake. En Zweeds blog (in het Engels) van Linda Lomelino met super mooie foto's en fijne food inspiratie.
If you hear the blog name Call me Cupcake you don't expect to find these cute little veggie burgers with coleslaw. But they're right there on the blog in amazing photography. Na nu zo'n twee maanden in Singapore te hebben gewoond ben ik ergens achter gekomen. Ik heb een vrij serieuze Marktplaats verslaving. Vaak is het even kijken zonder echt parels te spotten maar onlangs kwam ik een vergelijkbaar spijlenbankje tegen voor slechts € 85,-. Dat was wel even slikken. In Nederland wonend had ik niet geaarzeld en direct de adverteerder gemaild om een afspraak te maken. Maar ja, ik woon nu hier en hoe leuk en betaalbaar zo'n bankje ook mag zijn voor het hier is ben ik een kapitaal verder. Dus ik tipte mijn lieve blogvriendin Yvestown die ook neus heeft voor beauties en me al vrij snel via Instagram liet weten dat de buit binnen was. Na wat verder speurwerk is ook de ontwerper bekend: Yngve Ekstrom waar ik voor vertrek nog wel de Arka stoel van heb weten te bemachtigen. Gelukkig heeft Yvonne me verzekerd dat ik mag logeren op het bankje (de hele 1,20 meter breed!) en dat we time sharing kunnen doen mocht ik weer ooit terug naar Nederland verhuizen. Haar nieuwe aanwinst is rood en ik ben benieuwd of ze em een Yvestown sausje gaat geven.
After living in Singapore for two months now I've discovered that I have a Marktplaats (dutch Craigslist) addiction. I still often quickscan this website to see if I can find little hidden treasures. Usually not much but recently I came across this little sofa for only 85 euros. OEPS! If I would still be in Holland I wouldn't hesitate and email the owner to make an oppointment for a swift pick up. But now I'm looking at this from a distance and although it was affordable and close to where my parents live it would have been a fortune to have it shipped to Singapore. So I quickly emailed my dear blogfriend Yvestown who also didn't live far from this little gem. Soon she posted this picture on Instagram with a big thank you for the tip all the way from Singapore. After discovering it is a Yngve Ekstrom (by whom I have an Arka Chair) I'm very jealous. But she assured me that I'm welcome to sleep on it whenever I come to visit (it's 1,20 meter wide...) and we can time share if I ever move back to the Netherlands. Her new little sofa is red and I'm curious to find out if she will treat it with her usual Yvestown styling.

Lekker knutselen voor het voorjaar

Daar het voorjaar me buiten een beetje in de steek laat met weer sneeuw ben ik maar online gaan zoeken naar het voorjaar gevoel. Van site naar site naar site ben ik terecht gekomen op het blog van A Stubtle Revelry waar ik deze fantastische zelf gemaakt rozentak zag. Ik weet niet of ik zelf snel voor de combinatie met kaarsen zou gaan. Denk dat ik er mooie theelichtjes omheen zou zetten.

As spring is not really happening outside (yet) I chose to search for it online. Jumping from one site to the other following some amazing links I found myself on the A Subtle Reverly blog where I saw this amazing DIY roze branch. Must admit I wouldn't make the combination with the candle (too much a chicken) but I would chose some beautiful vovits.

Having fun with chalkboards

Ik heb een nieuw blog bij mijn we read lijst geplaatst: RAM SAM SAA. Een leuk vrolijk mama blog mijn fijne DIYs, vrolijke foto's van de kinderen en ondertussen smul ik van de fijne plaatjes van het interieur. Zoals deze (via Hus o Hem) van de kinderkamer. Wat zou ik graag zo'n krijtwand in ons nieuwe huis aanbrengen. De regels voor het decoreren van een expat woning liggen wat strikt dus eerst maar eens uitzoeken of het op de DO of DON'T lijst staat. Gelukkig laat bovenstaande ook een goed alternatief zien.
I've placed a new blog in my we read list: RAM SAM SAA. A happy mommy blog with inspirational DIYs, cute pictures of the kids and at the same time you get to enjoy the beauty of their home. Like these of the kidsroom (via Hus o Hem). I would love to paint one of the walls in our new home with chalkboard paint. Unfortunately the rules for decorating an expat home are limited so first I have to find out if it is a DO or a DON'T. Fortunately the pictures above also show a good alternative.

Zo zou ik ook gaan decoreren voor Pasen

Het blog Torie Jayne is weer een geweldige ontdekking voor fijne paas decoraties. Met een paar spuitbussen zorg je ervoor dat al je paas decoraties op elkaar afgestemd zijn. Hier in roze/blauw tinten maar je kunt natuurlijk ook lekker los gaan op de neons. Voor de 'how to' gebruik je deze link naar het blog.
Another great discovery on the world wide web is het Torie Jayne blog. She has great DIY Easter decorations. By buying only a few cans of spraypaint you make your easter table decorations work together. She used shades of pink and blue but you could also go wild on the neons this year.
