Cute prints at TOVE

 

Ook fan van fijne kleurtjes en leuke prints. Kijk dan eens bij TOVE, de website van Zweedse ontwerpster Tove Johansson. Nu nog met name werkzaam in opdracht van anderen maar er is een eigen webshop onderweg. Iets om zeker in de gaten te houden!

Screen printing with Rachel Castle

Oh kon ik maar in het scherm duiken om bij zo'n geweldige screen printing les van Rachel Castle te zijn. Ze doet deze voor het Australische The School. Als je vaker op mijn blog bent geweest dan weet je dat ik een groot fan van haar werk ben. Strakke lijnen, heldere kleuren en fijne vormen. Sorry dat er nu alweer een Australische inspiratie post is. Maar je weet hoe dat soms gaat als je online bezig bent. Als je een pad van inspiratie volgt en doorklikt vind je het ene na het andere waar je hart sneller van gaat kloppen.
I love these images from the screen printing courses done by Rachel Castle for The School. If you read my blog on a regular basis you know I'm a huge fan of her work. So crisp and clean and full of color. Sorry that I have taken a turn to the Australian inspirations. But you know how it works online. If you follow a direction you keep finding great things. I'm sure there will be some Scandinavian additions real soon.

A new discovery, availbe in Holland

Prachtige prints van de Deense Nynne Rosenvinge zijn gespot en ingekocht door House of C. Allen in het handzame A3 formaat maar op verzoek ook in andere maten verkrijgbaar. Ik vind ze geweldig.
Beautiful prints by Danish Nynne Rosenvinge have been spotted and bought for her online shop by House of C. All in an easy A3 format and if needed she can order another size. I love them!

Requests from the cupboard

In mijn collectie Scandinavisch servies heb ik zowel vintage als nieuw. En een mix van Figgjo, Marimekko, Arabia, Porsgrund en Iittala. Veel daarvan is zwart/wit en nou hoor ik steeds vanuit mijn kast de roep om deze geweldige nieuwe Piilopaikka print aan de verzameling toe te voegen. Uit de 2013 collectie van Arabia. Ik ga maar eens in de winkel zoeken. Misschien zo'n kan en een serveer schaal.
In my collection of Scandinavian tableware I have both vintage and new items. A mix of brands such as Figgjo, Marimekko, Arabia, Porsgrund and Iittala. Many of them are black and white and now I keep hearing requests from my cupboard to add this Piilopaikka print to the collection. From the 2013 collection of Arabia. Must see if I can find it at a local store. Maybe a jug and a serving dish.

Ik ben dol op fijne illustraties. Heb in mijn huis ook meer poster dan dat ik lijsten heb. Daarom zit in iedere lijst een drietal posters die om de zoveel tijd bovenop tegen het kijkvenster mogen liggen. Je snapt dan ook wel dat mijn bloed sneller ging stromen toen ik deze leuke 'min kropp' posters tegen kwam in zowel een jongens als een meisjes variant. Gespot bij Wallmart Studio. Niet allen deze beauties maar een site met volop fijne prints zowel op poster als op dienbladen, snijplankjes en theedoeken.
I love a good illustration. At our house I have more posters than frames so each frame holds about four posters that have to take turns to be closest to the glass. You can imagine my enthousiasm when I saw these fun 'min kropp' prints in both a boy and a girl image. Spotted at Wallmart Studio. Not only do they have these beauties but their site is filled with great prints both on paper, trays, cuttingboards and teatowels.

Detailed illustrations

We kennen de fijne posters en kussens al van Mini Empire uit Zweden maar nu komen daar ook nog geweldige ceramic producten bij. Ik zie er zo al drie waar ik heel gelukkig van kan worden. Gespot op Formex en hopelijk snel in de winkels. 

We already know the great posters and pillows by Mini Empire from Sweden and now they've extended their range with amazing ceramic products. I see three that I would like to add to my collection already. Spotted on Formex fair and hopefully very soon available in stores.

Come fly with me Sanna Annukka

Sanna Annukka is een Finse ontwerpster die je misschien al wel kent van haar werk voor Marimekko. Maar ze heeft ook een eigen collectie met prachtige prints en houten design voorwerpen. Hier zijn drie nieuwe prints uit haar webshop. En ze heeft meer moois voor ons in petto. Vanuit haar nieuwe eigen print studio in Brighton zal ze blijven verrassen met nieuwe screenprints. En eind 2012 mogen we ons ook weer verheugen op een nieuwe lijn bij Marimekko.
If you know Marimekko you've probably also heard about one of their designers, Sanna Annukka. Besides her great designs for them she also has her own webshop with screen prints and great wooden objects. Working from a new print studio in Brighton she has more great things in store for us. Such as a new line at Marimekko for end of 2012, I can't wait!

Zweeds design posters

Ik kwam op de site van Anna Larsson terecht via de kruiden poster maar moet zeggen dat ik haar 30 figures van onderdelen van het menselijk skelet ook fantastisch vind. Mooi dat harde zwart wit contrast. Ze heeft ook prints van twee figuren los, kaarten en theedoeken. In combinatie met een oogtest poster zou je hiermee een leuke 'artsen' kamer kunnen maken.
I landed on Anna Larsson's site when spotting the herbs poster online. But I have to say I like the 30 figures print of the human sceleton even more! Love the contrast of black and white. She also has two seperate figures, postcards and teatowels in her collection.

Aan de wand of bij een vriend in de hand?

Polkka Jam had al mooie prints met het thema koffie/thee en dieren. Maar nu zijn er ook deze bos, vogel en nieuwe plantjes kweek kaartjes bij gekomen. Mooi om te versturen maar zeker ook zo mooi om in een lijstje of onder een fijne magneet op de ijskast te hangen. Wij hebben deze selectie via Twitter gespot bij Een nieuw avontuur.
We've already seen a coffee/tea theme in the Polkka Jam card collection. But now they've expanded with these forest, bird and seed cards. Love the colors. They're beautiful to sent to a special friend or to put on your wall in a pretty frame. You can buy these cards in the Dutch online shop Een nieuw avontuur.

Speechless zo mooi!

De ontwerpen van Meyer Lavigne krijgen mij echt sprakeloos. Zoals deze 'Happy Days' serie. Ik zou ze ALLEMAAL wel willen hebben.

Het dagelijkse zonnetje in huis

Ik kan me het eerste bezoek aan het Zilverblauw blog nog goed herinneren. Voelde me net een stalker. In een avond heb ik heel haar blog bekeken en wilde zo vaak reageren op berichten dat ik zo'n beschamend 'daar heb je d'r weer' gevoel over me heen kreeg. Gelukkig was dit nog in het prille begin van haar blog, nu heb je denk ik wel wat meer dan een lange avond nodig om al het moois te bekijken. 

Ik zou dan ook willen voorstellen dat je begint bij een nieuw initiatief van Zilverblauw, haar shop. Haar fotografie en grafische oog gecombineerd met haar creatieve Casper heeft tot deze mooie collectie posters geleid. En als deze lijn al niet genoeg is komen er binnenkort ook weer hele leuke nieuwe bij. Anki, je bent het dagelijkse zonnetje op menig scherm daar ben ik van overtuigd en nu kom je ook nog tot in de woonkamers, werkkamers en slaapkamers! You go inspirational girl!

I can remember the first time I visited the Zilverblauw blog. Made me feel a bit like a stalker. I couldn't stop reading the next page in the archives and in one night read them all. Plus I kept commenting on her posts giving me a feeling of 'she must be thinking - her again! - or something). Luckely for me I discovered this blog in it's early stages. Think if you would want to plough trough it now you'ld need a bit more than one night. 

Therefor let me start by introducing you to her new project, a webshop with her own work. Her photography and graphic eye combined with a very creative partner Casper has resulted in this beautiful collection of unique posters. And if this isn't enough there are already some new design on the way. Anki, I know you bring your bit of sunshine to many screens every day and now you'll enter living rooms, home offices and bed rooms. You go inspirational girl!

Deze kwam ik tegen op de Pinterest pagina van Coretty van PSikhouvanjou met het geweldige nieuws dat deze binnenkort in de collectie is. Heb er maar meteen eentje gereserveerd. Be nice to the world met een kleine 'please' erachter zijn twee wijze lessen. Dat dan ook nog met zo'n fijne illustraties van Ingela P Arrhenius waar ik al een hele tijd fan van ben.
I saw this great print first on the Pinterest pages of Coretty from online shop PSikhouvanjou. Great news as it will soon be available in her shop and I've immediately made a reservation for my own copy. Be nice to the world and the small 'please' are two wise lessons I would love to take on board. Specially when it is executed in the amazing style by Ingela P Arrhenius who's work I'm a huge fan of.

It's all Carl, Carl, Carl

Dit is Carl, de zeer back to basics print van Sammy Rose. Maar Carl komt in 'all different shapes and characters'. Zo heb je Carl the sailor, Carl the show must go on, Carl the Teen wolf, Carlos, Good Morning Carl en Have faith in Carl. Doet me denken aan zo'n lekkere foute show van de Belg Jambers.... Het leukste effect krijg je natuurlijk als je thuis een mini Carl gallery maakt met een paar soorten naast elkaar. 

 

 

Meet Carl, the very back to basic print by Sammy Rose. As you can see Carl comes in all different shapes and characters. Like Carl the sailor, Carl the show must go on, Carl the teen wolf, Carlos, Good morning Carl and Have fait in Carl. This reminds me of a tv show we used to have hosted by Jambers from Belgium. He always had characters in the show that had an every day job but an exorbitant hobby at night.... The best way to introduce Carl to your home is to combine a few of your favorite characters into a mini art gallery.

Formelle Design uit Zweden

Gisteravond ontdekte ik deze heerlijke zwart wit prints van het Zweedse Formelle Design. Ik hou wel van een beetje humor in een interieur en deze posters zouden daar prima in passen. Last night I came across these images by the Swedish Formelle Design. I love a bit of humor in my interior and these would all fit in just fine. Without a single doubt my 2011 favorite Christmas cards. I love the combination of DIY tips for Christmas and the illustrations. Who doesn't want to learn how to make a cute lantern, a snowball with a christmas landscape, a gingerbread house or unique candles. The tutorials are in Dutch but the images give enough information to get you started. These sets of Christmas cards are designed by Geek de Chique from Rotterdam.
