Appartment in Strassbourg

I cannot get over how many unusual but great decoration items this house in Strassbourg has. I envy them for their large hyper pink Z, their wired Eiffel tower, and their lovely combination of original features in the apparment combined with a modern style furniture. The only thing I would change personally are the glass door and the glass 'bricks' next to it. Not really my cup of tea.

An amazing home on the river

It's possible to live very comfortably on the water. In the Netherlands you have lovely canalboat houses such as this one. Living above water level and sleeping below water level gives you all the space you need. And when executed this well you end up with an amazing living space, loads of light, ducks swimming by and a constant feeling of holiday.

Scandinavian style in Australia

Dit is het huis van Australische stylist Simone Haag. Ik volg haar op Instagram en het is dan ook heel leuk zo'n mooie foto's van haar op diverse sites tegen te komen. Ik bleef hangen omwille van de 'For Like Ever' poster. Wil al een tijdje zo'n mooie poster en hoop er ook eentje mee te nemen naar Singapore. This is the home of Australian stylist Simone Haag. I have been following her on Instagram for a while now and it's nice to come across so many of her images at several sites. I stuck to this one because of the 'For Live Ever' poster in the background. Have got my eye on this poster for a while now and hope to be able to take one to Singapore with me. A dose of Friday eye candy

Soms heb je net even wat minder inspiratie om te bloggen. Je wilt niet 'gewoon' maar iets plaatsen om de dag weer op te vullen. Nee, ik verwen jullie liever met fijne beelden. Daarom ben ik ook blij dat ik gewacht heb tot dit moment. Zojuist heb ik styliste Rachel Vigor gevonden en zij heeft in de fijnste huizen mogen werken. Mooie kleuren, grappige details en unieke producten strelen deze vrijdag het oog.

Op het LilleLykke Kids blog zie je vandaag wat images uit een boek waar ze aan gewerkt heeft 'The ultimate kids' birthday party boek'. Dat beloofd wat! 

Sometimes I lack the inspiration to post a blog. I don't want to just fill up the day by posting anything. No I much rather spoil you with beautiful images. That's why I'm happy that I've waited until this moment. I've just discovered the site of Rachel Vigor and she's been able to work in some amazing homes. Beautiful colors, quirky details and unique products are our dose of Friday eye candy.

On the LilleLykke kids blog I've posted some images from a book she's worked on called 'The ultimate kids' birthday party book'. Now there's a promise for succes.

Invloeden van Australische woonstijl

Sorry maar nu ik hier woon (in de warmte van Singapore) zal ik naast het Scandinavische ook iets verder kijken op interieur gebied. Gelukkig kan ik ook heel veel inspiratie vinden in de Australische woonstijl omdat deze inhaakt op het Scandinavische. Veel licht, neutrale basis en fijne accessoires met kleur. Zo ook bij dit huis in Bondi, een cottage in een wijk van Sydney.
I'm sorry but as I'm living in a warm climate now (Singapore) I will be looking further than just the Scandinavian interior style. Luckely I can also find a lot of inspiration in the Australian style since it really resembles the Scandinavian one. Lots of light, a neutral basis and fun accessories with color. Like you see in this home. A cottage in Bondi, a suburb of Sydney.

Modelwoning van Leva Husfabrik

In Rotterdam gaan we weer een interieur project onder handen nemen. En dit keer ons vorige woonadres. Eerst de nodige reparatie werkzaamheden, een deur verplaatsen, vloeren veranderen en een nieuwe keuken. Nou wil ik het op een strak budget doen zodat ik ook wat over kan houden voor wat leuke aanvullingen op de inrichting. Deze keuken hierboven van een van de modelwoningen van het Zweedse LEVA husfabrik is een mooie inspiratie. Zit alleen een beetje met waar laat ik de vaatwasser?

We're about to do a new interior decorating project. And this time it is our previous appartment. First we need to do some repair, change the location of a door, get a new floor and a new kitchen. I want to look at doing this on a tight budget so that there will be some euros left for new additions on decorating. This kitchen from a showmodel house by LEVA husfabrik is a good inspiration. Only I'm wondering where I'll leave the dishwasher?

Klein maar o zo fijn!

Een prachtig piep klein appartement met alles wat je nodig hebt erin. Om hier te wonen moet je wel altijd meteen opruimen. Iets wat in mijn DNA een beetje ontbreekt. We gaan wel ons eigen appartement opknappen (niet waar we nu wonen) en hier ga ik heel veel inspiratie uit halen om daar mee aan de slag te gaan.
A beautiful but very small apartment with all your essentials present. But to live here you must be somewhat a neat freak. Something that is missing in my DNA. But I do get a lot of inspiration from these images for the redecoration project of our apartment (not where we live now).

With a splash of colour

Weer een blog vondst om vrolijk van te worden: Mamma Tamo. Een Noors blog vol vrolijke gezellige foto's, indrukwekkende verzamelingen om jaloers op te zijn en vol inspiratie. Hier zie je mooi het effect van een basis interieur met te gekke kleurrijke accessoires. Ik ga voor toekomstige aanpassingen in huis zeker deze krijtwand onthouden. Leuk met die poster, retro lamp en kapstok.
Again a great discovery in blog country: Mamma Tamo. A Norwegian blog filled with great pictures, amazing collections (that make me a bit jealous) and heaps of inspiration. Here you can see the results of a basic interior completed with funky colourful accessories. For future alterations to our home I'm definately going to keep the chalkboard wall in mind. Love how it is combined with a bright poster, a retro lamp and the hooks on the wall.

Een mix van tijd en stijl

Wie had gedacht dat je klassiek, romantisch, industrieel, retro, design, antiek, brocante en modern zo leuk met elkaar kan combineren. Deze foto's ga ik goed bewaren want mijn lief kijkt vaak naar huizen met klassieke elementen waarvan ik soms denk 'slopen!'. Dit laat zien dat er een leuke spannende combinatie van te maken is. Kwestie van durven te combineren!
Who would have thought that combining a classic, romantic, industrial, retro, design, antique, brocante and modern elements in your home would give such an exciting interior. There's so much to discover that you just can't stop looking. I must keep these images as my Mr Lover often looks at homes with very classic elements that make me thing 'demolish and modernize!'. This shows that if you dare to combine you can create something exciting!

Mooie basics met mogelijkheden

Met zo'n naturel interieur als hier gefotografeerd door Pernille Kaalund is het niet moeilijk om met alle woon hypes mee te gaan. Die voeg je als vrolijke accessoires gewoon toe. Zoals hier met de driehoeksvormen in de vlaggetjes en de kussens op de stoelen. En het zijn grote raampartijen tussen kamers zoals op de linker foto die me erg blij maken. Licht doorlatend en ruimtelijk!
With an interior as photographed here by Pernille Kaalund in such a basic style you can easily add accessories to keep up with todays trends. Like here with a splash of colour in the bunting and the pillows on the chairs. And the big windows indoors like in the left picture always make me happy. The light keeps going from room to room and it makes a home look more spacious.

Envy and curious

Bij dit huis van Norm Architect wordt ik zowel jaloers als heel nieuwsgierig. Want in wat voor geweldige omgeving staat dit strak vormgegeven naturel huis. Die raampartij bij de eetkamer ziet er super uit. En de reflexie in het glas en doorkijk ramen bij de keuken doen vermoeden dat het een een groene, boomrijke omgeving staat. Als ik er zou wonen zou ik het waarschijnlijk al snel vol hebben met ABC fisher price letters op de ijskast, kleurrijke posters op de muur, bloemen op de tafel en comfortabele kussens in de bank. Maar dat hebben de bewoners wellicht inmiddels ook wel gedaan.

Looking at this house by Norm Architect I feel both envy and curiosity. The reflections in the window of the dining room and the see through window in the kitchen indicate that this amazing designed house must be located in a green natural surrounding. Most likely, if I would live here, the fridge would have magnets and Fischer price ABC all over it, the walls would be covered in colorful posters and the sofa would have comfy cushions. Maybe the residents have done the same by now.

Kijk mee met Dos Family

Altijd fijn om te zien als er weer een nieuwe 'visit' is geplaatst op het Dos Family blog van Isabelle en Jenny. Zoals dit inspirerende huis van Sara en Kristian. Leuk detail, ze hebben de wandkast boven het aanrecht zelf gemaakt en hebben hierbij eerst alle kopjes, glazen en schaaltjes gemeten om tot de ideale layout te komen.

I'm always pleased to find a new 'visit' on the Dos Family blog by Isabelle and Jenny. Like this inspirational home of Sara and Kristian. Nice detail, they've made the wall cabinet in the kitchen for glasses, cups and bowls themselves and first measured all items to make the most suitable layout.

A new love for Meyer-Lavigne

Ken je Meyer Lavigne al? Mogelijk ben je een van hun beschilderde borden al eens ergens tegen gekomen maar dit duo doet nog zoveel meer. Naast de Meyer Lavigne shop met allemaal alledaagse gebruiksvoorwerpen die ware kunstwerken zijn werken deze design dames ook als succesvol stylistes voor diverse Deense woonbladen. En dit met een stijl die mij persoonlijk zeer aanspreekt. Het gedateerde alledaags maken.
Have you 'met' Meyer Lavigne? It could be that you've seen one of their beautiful painted plates online. But this creative duo does so much more. Aside from their work of artsy everyday products that you can buy online in their Meyer Lavigne shop they also are succesful stylists for Danish interior magazines. I personally really like their style where they take objects from the past and make them fit in an interior today.

House calls door DosFamily

Ik kijk graag naar de binnenkijkers van DosFamily, de DosVisits. Het zijn meestal heel toegankelijke huizen met alledaagse inrichting en niet van die enorme design projecten. Dit appartement van Lovisa Witt is bijvoorbeeld een tijdelijke bewoning tot hun nieuwe huis klaar is. Nou, dan kan ik niet wachten om straks dat nieuwe huis ook te mogen zien. 

I love to look at the homes photographed by DosFamily, the DosVisits. Usually they are very inspirational everyday homes that don't have heaps and heaps of design objects in them. Like this appartment from Lovisa Witt. It is a temporary home until their new house is finished. If this is temporary I can't wait to see their new home once finished.
